3x Chair 51, Alvar Aalto, Artek, Finland, c. 1935
A set of three Hallway chairs, originally produced for the Paimio Sanitorium in 1932. They were designed to be lightweight, mobile, and stackable.
This set, sourced on the continent, have been painted a vibrant pillar-box red at an early stage in their life.
They have some history of woodworm, but have been intensely treated, cleaned and coated with a clear varnish to preserve the colour. One chair has minor chips in the seat. Of course, there is the option to paint the chairs to suit.
The price is for all three, but there is the possibility of splitting the set.
