Three Tier Shelf 111 - Alvar Aalto

Shelf no. 111, Alvar Aalto, Artek (Finsven), Sweden, 1940s

A very rare shelf no. 111 from Alvar Aalto. This particular piece has been made in Sweden when Artek opened up factories there during WWII in order to spread the weight of resources and man-power. Stamped ‘FINSVEN’.

Aalto even employed his method of bending (that you see in his chair and table legs) on the legs of these shelves.
