MoMA Armchairs, Ilmari Tapiovaara, Thonet (not in production), 1948

A pair of chairs designed for the Low Cost Furniture exhibition at MoMA 1948 – by Ilmari Tapiovaara.

At the time of the exhibition there were no photos released of the furniture in the case of copyright infringement and the like.

These chairs are not easy to come by and it is rarely seen in Tapiovaara’s collection of furniture.
