4x Chair 63, Alvar Aalto, Artek, 1935
Designed in 1935 and still produced today, the Chair 63 is perfect at the desk, dotted around the home, or around the dining table. Aalto’s theory proving to work, the standardised legs were used for a lot of their models, including the iconic Stool 60. Where the 63 differs from the 62 is where the legs meet the backrest. In the 62 they are hidden by the upholstery, and the frame seems squatter.
A set of 4 here, potentially produced in the 1940s and upholstered in a ‘Mushroom-coloured’ linen.
