Birch Series Daybed, Cees Braakman, Pastoe, 1953

Daybed from Cees Braakman’s most popoular series he designed for Utrecht-based furniture producers, Pastoe in 1953. Although we’ve yet to come across any reference of the daybed in Pastoe: 100 years of Design Innovation (Anne Van Der Zwaag, Nai Publishers, 2013), Braakman’s signature bent plywood feet sit firmly on a solid birch frame.
