Chair 21, Alvar Aalto, (FINMAR Ltd.), Finland, 1933

A cantilever chair (model no. 21) designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933 which was once upholstered in green leather-effect fabric. The fabric has now been stripped and the back curve seems to have been cut off during the upholstery process, as early as the mid 30s.

There is a chance that it came from a group of chairs removed from a university or library in the north of the UK. Bears a red Finmar tag.
